"New beta of a free and very realistic 3D driving simulator"
As you can guess from the name, Racer is a car racing simulator, but it’s more than just your average racing video game. The focus of this driving simulator, above all, is to make you really experience the feeling of being behind the wheel of these cars, making sure your movements and those of the car are inextricably linked. To accomplish this, the developers carefully studied the physics of each movement, acceleration, centripetal and centrifugal forces that will make you feel like you are really driving one of these cars at top speed.
Plus, because Racer is a free and open source game, you can contribute or modify your own tracks or race cars. In fact, there is a large community of Racer players that turns out a lot of interesting extras to go along with the base game. You can compete in races with other players online or using a local area network (LAN). Or if you prefer, you can just enjoy the track all by yourself.
This download is for a new beta version of Racer, and as such, will give you a first look at new features that are still in development. The tradeoff, of course, is there are likely some bugs that haven’t been caught yet.
